District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting of the concerned officers here to finalise the arrangements for the celebration of the Armed Forces Flag Day to be observed on December 07.Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; Principal GMGHSS Rajouri, Abdul Raof Dar; ZSWO, Javed; ARTO, Shami Kumar and BDO Rajouri, Chander Kant Bhagat attended the meeting.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Armed Forces Flag Day is dedicated towards collection of funds from people of India for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces personnel. The funds collected on Flag Day are also used for the welfare of serving personnel and ex-servicemen and also to rehabilitate battle casualties.He said that soldiers are one of the greatest assets of any country as they are the guardians of the nation and protect its citizens at all costs.

While praising the role of Armed forces in defending the territorial integrity of the nation state against external and internal threats, he said that the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces are invaluable and unparalleled.The DC said that the District Administration is committed to undertake all necessary steps for effective resolution of issues faced by the ex-servicemen and their families.He also said that there is a need for creating a sense of patriotism among the youth of the present generation and ex-servicemen can play a vital role in creating awareness about the nation, national integrity and introducing freedom fighters to youngsters.DC also asked the concerned officers to motivate the youth to come forward and opt army as a career. He said that special coaching for the girl students for NDA would also be organised by the District Administration and directed the concerned to identify the girls who would be provided coaching for NDA purpose.He asked the officers to take concrete measures to generate more and more funds on Armed Forces Flag Day so that the same can be used for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces personnel.DC asked the concerned officers to put in place added efforts to ensure that all the arrangements for the smooth and successful celebration of the Armed Forces Flag Day are completed well in time.
