Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today performed inaugurations and foundation stones of 46 developmental projects worth about Rs. 180 crore at Kupvi in Chopal assembly constituency of Shimla district. While addressing a massive public meeting at Kupvi, Chief Minister announced opening of SDM office and Degree College at Kupvi besides JE Sections of PWD, Jal Shakti and HPSEB limited at Balghar. He also announced opening of PHC at Kothi Halog and upgradation of PHC Chailla to CHC. He also announced upgradation of Veterinary Dispensary Pulbahal to Veterinary Hospital and construction of helipad at Gadala in Chopal.Chief Minister said that Rs 180 crore projects dedicated and foundation stone of which was laid by him today would transform the life of the people of the area and would add wings to development. He said that the present State Government was working without any vengeance and vendetta and ensuring equitable development of the State. He said that from the day one the Government ensured that no one was victimized politically and main focus was laid on development of the State.Jai Ram Thakur accused the previous State Government for dividing the people of the State even on colour of the caps. He said that during the last about four years, the State Government has ensured that all the areas of the State and every section of the society get benefitted from the policies and programmes initiated by the Government. He said that the very first decision of the State Government was aimed at welfare of the old people and the Government lowered the age limit for availing the benefits of the old age pension from 80 years to 70 years. He said that today lakhs of old people were being provided Rs. 1500 pension per month.

Chief Minister said that 3.25 lakh gas connections were provided to the eligible families under the Grihini Suvidha Yojana. He said that as many as 2.07 lakh families have been benefitted under the HIMCARE Yojana and under Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana Rs. 3000 per month were being provided to  family with a critically ill patients and about 17000 people has been registered under this scheme. He said that Jan Manch programme and Chief Minister Sewa Sankalp Helpline-1100 has also proved a boon to the people for redressal of their grievances. He said that Shagun scheme has been launched in the State to provide financial assistance of Rs. 31,000 to girls belonging to the BPL families of the State at the time of their marriage. He said that all these schemes have transformed the economy of the State and its people.  He said the Congress Government did nothing for the welfare of the common man as they were busy in their own development.Jai Ram Thakur said the steps taken by the State Government in tackling the spread of corona virus has been appreciated by the Prime Minister and by other states.  He said that the Congress remained in power for last about 50 years in State as well as at Centre. He said that about three years back, there were only two oxygen plants in the State and today the state has 32 PSA oxygen plants. He said that there were only 50 ventilators in the State when this pandemic broke out. He said that he took up the matter with the Prime Minister and immediately 500 new ventilators were provided under the PM CARES for the State. He said that today there were over 1000 fully functional ventilators in various hospitals in the State. He directed the contractors to ensure that all the developmental works were completed well in time otherwise strict action would be taken against them. 

He appreciated the local MLA for taking keen interest in development of the area. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 3.46 crore 10 meter span bridge over Khaddar Nalla on Sainj Chopal Nerwa Fedaj road, Rs. 56 lakh veterinary hospital building at Chopal, Rs. 8.04 crore road from Chapandli to Chilla, Rs.6.45 crore Reuni to Khagna road,  Rs.2 crore link road from Bhuthi to Punder, Rs. 1.85 crore Primary Health Centre building at Ghoma Balson, Rs. 2.10 crore bridge over Giri river on Theog Hatkoti National Highway, Rs. 89 lakh GWSS C-Kiar Nerwa in tehsil Nerwa, Rs. 86 lakh LWSS to PC habitation and NC habitation Kiartua-II Shilli to GP Chanju tehsil Chopal, Rs. one crore LWSS Patial khad to village Sari GP Sari in tehsil Chopal, Rs. 6.86 crore LIS for Horticulture/Agriculture land of GP Kulag, Noura Boura tehsil Gupvi, Rs. 3.01 crore LIS for horticulture land of GP Thana under AIBP tehsil Chopal, Rs. 2.14 crore DDUGJY (22KV Control Point at Nerwa), Rs. 96 lakh replacement and strengthening of existing 22KV RMU with VCBs (22KV Control Point at Jhikanipull), Rs. 9.22 crore Integrated Power Development Scheme (Chopal Town), Rs. 1.23 crore LWSS from Giri khad Karau to Dehandhar in tehsil Theog and Rs. 1.03 crore LWSS from Dwada khad to village Kharku in G.P. Kuthar.Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs. 10.74 crore balance work and metalling and tarring of road Chanjalpul to Rewalpur Sihara, Jailly, G.P. Matal Batludhar Shilabha, Kula Batara, Rs. 8.55 crore upgradation and metalling and tarring of Marog to Gorli Teen Khamba Bulti Nallah, Rs. 52 lakh Charuadhar to Gaoncha road, Rs. 2.32 crore Government Senior Secondary School building at Nerwa, Rs. 1.71 crore Science Lab in Government Senior Secondary School, Tharoch, Rs. 2.32 crore Girls Hostel in Government Senior Secondary School Chopal, Rs. 5.71 crore Shalowa Ghoond Kot Pargya road under NABARD, Rs. 62 lakh GSSS building at Damyana tehsil Theog, Rs. 82 lakh GSSS building at Neri Nagar tehsil Theog, Rs.1.85 crore GSSS building at Deothi tehsil Theog and Rs. 8.37 crore 62 meters span Bajrolipul bridge tehsil Theog. 

Jai Ram Thakur also laid foundation stones of Rs. 17.44 crore LWSS to various habitations under IPH sub division Kupvi, Rs. 13.52 crore LWSS to various habitations under IPH Sub Division Chopal, Rs. 2.57 crore retrofitting of 28 ongoing completed GWSS/LWSS schemes under NRDWP in Chopal constituency to provide functional household tap connection under Jal Jiwan Mission, Rs.2.44 crore retrofitting of 5 ongoing LWSS schemes under NRDWP in Chopal constituency to provide functional household tap connection under Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs. 23 lakh remodeling/augmentation of GWSS Jai Grah, Sadrada, Dhankar, Mandal and Shilli etc. in G.P. Chanju, Rs. 2.63 crore providing tap connections to various balance household of IPH Sub Division Kupvi, Rs. 7.26 crore providing tap connection to various balance household of IPH Sub Division Nerwa, Rs. 90 lakh LWSS Douchi Lalpani HB Dhanout in GP Chanju, Rs. 45 lakh GWSS Duina Nallah to lower Batewari in GP Dewar Tehsil Chopal and Rs. 2.21 crore FIS Kupvi in GP Juru Shalal. Chief Minister performed foundation stones of Rs. 11.43 crore sewerage system to NAC Chopal, Rs. 1.96 crore LWSS from Giri khad to village Upper Banal Kehrali in GP Bagain, Rs. 90 lakh improvement of FIS Neri Maniana and FIS Deothi Patara in GP Deothi, Rs. 31 lakh LWSS Nehra khad to Shirgulli in GP Ghorna of tehsil Theog, Rs. 4.38 crore new Police Station building at Kupvi, Rs. 50 lakh Police Station Deha, Rs. 9.07 crore Cluster under Horticulture Development Project and Rs. 4.35 crore augmentation 66/22KV, 63 MVA transformer to 10 MVA at 66/22/11 Sainj Sub Division and re-conducting of outgoing feeders (Pulbahal-Deha and Chhaila).MLA Chopal Balbir Verma while welcoming the Chief Minister in his home constituency said that being a far flung area, Kupvi needs special preference in matter of development. 

He said he said that a few road projects were hanging fire due to FCA thus efforts must be made to get the clearances at the earliest so that road network in the area could be strengthened. He said that developmental projects worth Rs 500 crore were being executed in Chopal Vidhan Sabha area. He urged the Chief Minister to open SDM office at Kupvi, as the SDM headquarter of Chopal was over 100 kms from this place. He also urged the Chief Minister for opening Degree College at Kupvi and ITI at Balghar. He said that he would ensure the victory of BJP in 2022 elections.Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar said that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has always been considerate towards the developmental demands of the people of the hard and difficult areas of the State. He said that the Chief Minister has always ensured that the backward area prosper along with the other areas of the State.Mandal President Mangat Ram Sharma and Chairman Panchayat Samiti Shayam Singh Panwar welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion and also detailed various developmental demands of the area. State Spokesman BJP Shashi Dutt Sharma, Incharge Mahasu Behari Lal Sharma, Former Chairman Panchayat Samiti Sehi Ram Chauhan, member BJP Working Committee Amit Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi were present on the occasion among others.
