Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sardar Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa accompanied by Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Rajawarring today presided over a meeting of District Grievances Redressal Committee at DC Complex where he heard grievances of public.Deputy CM and Transport Minister announced to resolve pending issues related with the city and villages during the meeting.In the presence of all department heads he also resolved many complaints on the spot.Also some representatives of Anganwadi Workers, Government Employees Unions and PSPCL who were upset for not addressing their grievances were also given a patient hearing by the deputy CM.The representatives of the unions’ were assured that Punjab Government will extend every possible help to resolve their long pending issues.During the meeting, Sardar Randhawa directed all department heads not to delay in resolving the complaints of common man. He also gave special instructions to the police department and asked police officers for quick redressal of public complaints in police stations across the district.  

Apart from individual problems the deputy CM and Transport Minister also heard complaints pertaining to sewerage, water, registries of houses and plots, unauthorized and authorized colonies issues and blockage of canal water and electricity related complaints. They also directed officials to work towards the beautification of the city. 

Responding to a question during a press conference, he blamed former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for not paying any attention to the development of Muktsar district. The area has not been able to develop comprehensively due to their lack of interest, he said. 

Before the starting of the meeting Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Sudan also administered an oath during the occasion of Indian Constitution Day.

Deputy Commissioner also stated that all the Union representatives who reached District Administrative Complex were pacified and their leaders returned on a positive note and their issues will be resolved very soon.Among others who were also present during the occasion were former MLA of Muktsar Sahib Karan Kaur Brar, District Congress President Harcharan Singh Sotha, SSP Sarabjit Singh, ADC Rajdeep Kaur, ADC (d) Arun Sharma, DPRO Gurdeep Singh Mann, Amanpreet Singh Bhatti, Chairman Zila Parishad Narinder Singh Kauni, President Municipal Council Krishan Lal Shami Teria, President Municipal Council Malout Shubhdeep Singh Bittu, Gursant Singh Brar, Bhina Brar, Block Congress President Bhinder Sharma, Nathu Ram Gandhi  and others.
