Haryana's Home and Health Minister, Anil Vij said that the Cancer Hospital built in the Civil Hospital premises of Ambala Cantonment is the most modern cancer hospital in the vicinity, where world class facilities will be available for the treatment of cancer patients. He said that some equipments are left to be installed in the hospital and after installing these, there is a plan to make the hospital fully operational in the coming January. He said that the arrangements for the stay of the patients coming to the hospital for treatment along with their relatives are being discussed. Health Minister Anil Vij inspected the cancer hospital and inquired about the working system from the doctors. He inquired about Modular OT, Linear Escalator, City Simulator and other equipments used in the treatment. During this, he told that 75 regular staff will be posted in Cancer Hospital and out of this, a lot of staff has already arrived. During the inspection, Sh. Vij went to the ground and all three floors of the hospital and checked the equipment and other arrangements.
He said that so far, linear escalator, city simulator, endoscopy and other machines have come in Cancer Hospital, from which better treatment can be done. Two modern modular OTs have been made in the hospital. There is no other cancer hospital equal to this hospital in Haryana. He said that the brachotherapy machine will also reach the hospital in a few days. The registration of patients in the hospital has been started here. Chemotherapy and breast cancer treatment have been started. He said that the hospital is expected to be fully operational by January so that people will get the benefit of it. People of nearby states will also benefit from this. Sh. Vij said that of course cancer is being treated in PGI Chandigarh, but the number of patients in PGI is more. PAT scan has also been approved in the hospital and it will also be installed here soon.
Home Minister Vij inspected on four floors
While inspecting the Cancer Hospital, Health Minister Anil Vij went to the ground and three other floors and inquired from the staff present about all the arrangements related to the medical related to Cancer Hospital. Civil Surgeon Dr. Kuldeep Singh, PMO Dr. Rakesh Sahal and Dr. Vinay Goyal informed the Health Minister in detail about this. The Health Minister said on the occasion that the registration of cancer related diseases has started here. Chemotherapy is being done in the civil hospital, registration of diseases related to breast cancer has also started. Minister Anil Vij also interacted with the Radiation Safety Officers during the inspection and encouraged them to run this hospital in a better way so that this hospital can be named. While interacting with the doctors of the hospital as well as the civil hospital, he also encouraged them for the work being done by them.During the inspection, Health Minister Anil Vij inspected all the rooms built in Cancer Hospital along with Console Room, Physicist Room, DPS Room, Mold Room, Braco Therapy and inquired about the medical arrangements made there. It is worth mentioning that a modern linear accelerator at a cost of Rs 18 crore, city simulator machine at a cost of Rs 4 crore has been installed in the hospital. Breaky therapy machine will be installed soon at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
These facilities and treatment will be in cancer hospital
The Cancer Hospital building has ground plus three floors. It is a 50 bedded hospital with facilities like OPD, IPD, Day Care, Chemo Therapy, Modern OT, Radio Therapy, Brachy Therapy, CT Simulator, Mammography Ultrasound, X-ray, Color Doppler etc. To provide these facilities, the recruitment process of team of specialist doctors such as Radiation Oncologist, Medical Oncolist, Surgical Oncolist, Radiation Technician, RSO and other staff has been done by the government and many people have joined. Cancer hospital will have basic facilities like emergency, laboratory, referral transport, kitchen and radiology facilities.It may be mentioned that the Cancer Hospital has been constructed at a cost of Rs 72 crore. There were many challenges at the time of construction, which included shifting the temple, foundation problem when the level of underground water is high, taking Defence Department land and transferring other land in return. There were other problems. But with the special efforts of Health Minister Anil Vij, these problems were solved hard after which now a modern cancer hospital is ready where the patients coming here will get modern facilities of treatment.
