A mega Sports festival which was organised by District Police Pulwama on 21/10/2021 in order to comemmorate the Supreme sacrifices of Police martyrs concluded today with the final matches of Cricket, Volleyball & Kabadi.On this occasion the DC Pulwama Shir Baseer-ul-Haq Chourday was the Chief Guest , SSP Pulwama Shri. Gh. Jeelani Wani-JKPS, CO’s of 182/183 Bn of CRPF, DYSP PC Pulwama Shri Saqib Gani, DYSP DAR Shri Qazi Shams and other Police, Army and Civil officers were also present. A total number of 20 teams participated in cricket, 10 teams in Volley Ball and 05 teams in Kabaddi. In Cricket the final match was played between Shafi Eleven Cricket Club Parigam and District Police Cricket Club Pulwama which won by Shafi Eleven Cricket Club Parigam.Final match of Volleyball was played between Star Volleyball Club Pulwama and Shafi Eleven Volley ball Club Parigam which won by Star Volleyball Club Pulwama and Similarly the final match in Kabaddi was played between District Police Kabaddi Club and Pulwama united Kabadi Club which won by District Police Kabaddi Club.
In Cricket the player who was declared as Man of the Series Bilal Ahmad from Rajpora Cricket Club, Man of the Match declared Adil Ahmad @ Adil Fifty from Shafi Eleven Cricket Club Parigam and Best Batsman declared Khalid Ahmad from District Police Cricket Club.In Volleyball, the player who was declared as Man of the Match is Younis Ahmad Dar from Star Volleyball Club Pulwama, Player of the tournament declared Rizwan from Shafi Eleven Volleyball Club Parigam.In Kabaddi Man of the match declared Daniyal from District Police Kabadi Club and Player of the tournament declared Amir from Pulwama united Kabadi Club.In the closing ceremony DC Pulwama Shri Baseel-ul-Haq Choudary along with SSP Pulwama Shir Gh. Jeelani Wani felicitated the Winner and Runner up teams from all games Viz, Cricket, Volley ball & Kabaddi with the trophies, cash prizes and also distributed Cricket kits. Similarly the awards were given to the players for best performance in the final matches and tournament.SSP Pulwama while interacting with players congratulated the winner/runner up teams and expressed that Pulwama Police is committed to give boost to the sports and other youth development activities in the area and channelize youth’s energy in positive manner. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity, good health and keeps the individual away from the negative forces. SSP Pulwama thanked the players, spectators and the people who witnessed the event and made the event successful.
