The Cultural Unit of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with Debates and Seminar Committee, Government College for Women MA Road Srinagar today organised a Debate/ Seminar on World Science Day for Peace and development, here.Prof. Dr. Nasreen Aman was the Chief Guest on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nasreena threw light on the topic. She highlighted the significant role of science in society and the need to engage in debates on emerging scientific issues.Prof. Dr. Nasreen thanked the Department of Information for conducting such programmes and appreciated the students.

On the occasion, 10 girls spoke on the topic and three best bagged positions. The first position was bagged by Salwa, second by Urooj while Anam got third position. The position holders were presented with trophies while the rest of the participants were given certificates of participation. Cultural Officer, Burhan Hussain also addressed the gathering and thanked the college committee for their collaboration and cooperation.Judges Prof Lubna Nehvi and Dr Wasia besides Convener, Debates and Seminars Committee, Dr Shabir Hussain Mirza and Co-convener Dr Abina habeen and other members were also present.
