The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today gave away cash award of Rs.1 lakh to the students of Army GoodWill School, Chandigam and Government Middle School, Bumhama at his office in presence of Chief Education Officer and Tehsildar Kupwara.The award was given to them for presenting Kashmiri song (rouf) at a function presided over by Union Minister for Law and Justice, Kiran Rijiju, at Chandigam on October 30. The Minister was highly impressed by the performance of the children in the cultural programme and announced a cash award in favour of the children.Today, the Deputy Commissioner, on behalf of the Minister handed over Rs.50,000( Fifty thousand) to each school in favour of participating students as cash award, besides, transport and refreshment charges.
