Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue Amritsar emerged as the winner of the Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University in the category of Zonal Youth Festival of Education Colleges on the concluding day on Tuesday. As many as 400 students from the 13 affiliated education colleges of the University participated in 23 items of music, theatre, dance, literature and fine arts. Khalsa College of Education, GT. Road Amritsar got second position and MGN College of Education, Jalandhar remained third.Today, Prof. Anish Dua, Dean Student's Welfare presided over the prize distribution function. Earlier, Dr. Tejwant Singh Kang welcomed Prof. Dua at the Dasmesh Auditorium with a bouquet of flowers. Dr. Baljit Singh Sekhon, Advisor of the Department, Dr. Amandeep Singh Coordinator and other staff members were also present.In his address, Prof. Dua shared the memories of the youth festivals of his times with the students. He urged the students to engage in any work they should do with full dedication. The deeds that are done with a half-hearted mind never come to an end. He also talked about the alumni of the University who performed on the stage of Dasmesh Auditorium and now they are well known in the film and television industry. Today, he said that, the second zonal youth festival has come to an end and the third zonal youth festival would be held from October 29 to 31 and in the coming days, the youth festivals of three different zones would be organized.
