Awami Ittihaad Party President and MLA Langate Engineer Rashid while expressing surprise over what he termed the unnecessary and undue importance to the participation of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the oath taking ceremony of PM designate Narendra Modi, advised that Kashmiri nation should avoid day dreaming. According to the statement issued, Rashid said that both Kashmiri nation and its leaders who vow to be its torchbearers have to mend their own homes and value the unprecedented sacrifices of browbeaten Kashmiri nation than only something concrete can be achieved .” It is mere craziness to celebrate on the small happening between India and Pakistan,” Rashid said.
While speaking to the AIP workers at Kupwara, Engineer Rashid Stated “ Although any warming of relations between India and Pakistan is a welcoming sign but any unnecessary capering on India- Pakistan thaw without resolution of Kashmir dispute by Kashmiri people and leadership is meaningless. Leaders who are congratulating Nawaz Sharif over participation in oath taking ceremony and congratulating people over same are actually misleading masses as they know that India is yet to take any tangible steps to solve Kashmir issue,”Rashid made it clear that even if both Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi trade warm gestures and lay floral tributes to one another’s ‘ fathers of nation’ still Kashmiris should not feel buoyant as only taking concrete steps on Kashmir dispute matters to us as people of Kashmir.
“An oppressed nation like Kashmir should avoid day dreaming as people and leaders here from both the mainstream and pro-freedom have to show utmost maturity,” Rashid remarked.“The India, Pakistan leaders meeting one another in the oath taking ceremony is a normal development as other SAARC leaders too are invited. Kashmiris should strengthen their own fort and force both India and Pakistan to take concrete steps on solving Kashmir dispute rather than giving undue importance to inconsequential issues,” he added.
