DC Kathua convenes Public Outreach Programme at Chadwal

To listen to the grievances of the people, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today convened a Public Grievances Redress Camp here at Royal Resorts Chadwal.DDC Member Marheen Karan Attri;  SDM Hiranagar, BDC Members, XEN PWD, XEN PDD , XEN Ravi Tawi, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer,  President Vayapar Mandal Chadwal, Sarpanches, Panches were present on the occasion .During the camp, PRIs and Social workers projected problems faced by the people including low voltage and shortage of drinking water and   demanded blacktopping and repair of the roads, provision of new tubewell for chadwal, besides start of a bus service from Nagri to Jammu via Kot Punnu etc.Sarpanch Haripur Patil demanded widening of the road from Blassa Khoo to Manayari and Installation of an ATM in the area as the people of village had to go far off to withdraw the money.Sarpanch Chadwal Panchayat, Seemant Sharma demanded funds for the sanctioned Trauma Centre and initiated its construction work. The extension of the playground was also projected by the people of the area. They also demanded a toilet complex in the main market area .

On the occasion, officers of Agricultural Department, Social Welfare Department and Horticulture Department briefed the people regarding the various Public welfare schemes and programmes of their respective departments and appealed to them to avail the benefit of the schemes and programmes.Speaking on the occasion, DDC member Marheen Karan Attri asked  departments to take feedback from the people from time to time  about the implementation of schemes on ground. He stressed on all the PRI members to work wholeheartedly for the welfare of the people .He demanded culverts on Ravi Tawi Canal.Some of the issues raised by the PRIs were resolved on the spot during the grievances camp.While speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav said that the issue of bus service from Nagri to Jammu via Kot Punnu will be taken up with the concerned department.Regarding the problem of Irrigation water, directions were passed to the irrigation department to redress the problem. On  the problem of low voltage, he asked the people to pay the electricity bills timely and also cooperate with the Power Development Department so that their problem could be redressed. He assured the people that the issue of funds for the Trauma centre will be taken up by the concerned authorities.The DC said the motive behind these outreach programmes was to get first hand appraisal of the problems and development needs of the people and work out the mechanism to address them in a time bound manner. He assured people that the projected issues will be looked into and efforts will be made to redress them on priority basis.
