Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of officers from different departments to finalize the arrangements for the forthcoming festival of Krishna Janmashtami. ADC (L&O) Ghanshyam Singh; ACG Rakesh Dubey; Deputy Director Information (PR) Gul Hassan Kraipak besides senior officers from Security, Traffic, PHE, PDD, JMC along with representatives of religious organizations were also present in the meeting.The meeting had a detailed discussion on the arrangements to be put in place for the celebration of the festival. The members of the religious organisations unanimously said that no Shobha Yatra or any kind of Jhanki will be organised in view of Covid-19 pandemic. Only Puja/Arti will be conducted within the temple premises for which they requested for adequate security, uninterrupted supply of power and water and proper sanitation in and around the temples.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers from the Police department to ensure security arrangements with proper frisking at entry/exit points of the temples. He also asked the Traffic Police to ensure smooth movement of vehicles around the temples to avoid jamming.He directed the officers from PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted supply of power and water during the festival.Concerned officials from JMC were asked to ensure cleanliness in and around the temples of the city. The Fire Services authorities were asked to remain vigilant to meet any eventuality.He also urged the religious organisations to ensure that devotees shall follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour at the temples during the festival.The Deputy Commissioner emphasized upon the officers to ensure that arrangements relating to their respective departments are in place well in time for smooth conduct of the festival.
