Former Minister of External Affairs and Member of Parliament, Parneet Kaur, today, inaugurated the Admin Block and connecting corridor of Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala, built under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan at a cost of Rs 64 Lakh.The ceremony came in conjunction with the start of the academic session 2021-2022 and was attended by the staff members and the students of the college. In her address, Mrs Preneet Kaur applauded the college for being one of the leading college in the field of commerce, not only in Punjab but in the entire north India. She appreciated the efforts of the college Principal Professor (Dr) Kusum Lata and staff for efficiently managing the curricular and co-curricular activities of the college during the existing pandemic situation and wished for the bright future of the students. She said that establishing e-office in the Admin Block is the dire need in the present day scenario.
College Principal (Prof.) Dr. Kusum Lata informed that an e-office is going to be set up in this newly built Admin Block. She highlighted the achievements of the students and told that every year besides securing places in the university merit list, the college students also excel in various cultural activities. Prof. Ram Kumar, head of the computer department presented the vote of thanks to the chief guest and other dignitaries.On this occasion, Amrit Partap Singh Sekhon, Information Commissioner, Punjab, Sh. Rajesh Sharma Deputy Principal Secretary, Chief Minister Punjab, Smt. Kiran Dhillon, President District Congress (Women wing) Patiala, Sh. Vijay Kuka MC, Sh S.L.Garg Executive Engieer PWD B&R, Prof. Ram Kumar, Smt. Charanjeet Kaur, Dr. Apra, Dr Jyoti Tirthani, Dr. Rekha, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Dr. Reetu Kapoor, Smt. Shashi Bala, Junior Assistant Smt Kiranjeet Kaur, Junior Assistant S. Balbir Singh were present along with other staff members.
