To pay glorious tributes to all the martyrs and freedom fighters, and to commemorate the 75th Independence Day,Ramban Police today held a painting competition in the Community Hall Maitra  under aegis of  Azadi Ka Amrut  Mahotsav.District SP, PD Nitya; Additional SP, Rajni Sharma; Chief Education Officer, Vinod Koul;  District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Dharamveer Singh were present on the ocassion. As many as 40 students from different schools participated in the painting competition and five of them were awarded for their excellent performance in the competition.Nishtha Sharma was adjudged overall best, while Genha Sharma and Shafia banoo bagged the second and third positions , respectively.The competition was judged by a panel of judges consisting CEO and DYSSO and a local artist of great repute.While speaking on the occasion, SP Ramban, PD Nitya  stated that this painting competition is being held to pay glorious tribute to those great souls who fought for the independence of this great nation and to those who laid down their lives to protect its sovereignty and integrity post independence.It’s a high time to tell our younger generation about the values and sacrifices made by founding fathers of this great nation. This event is an endeavour on the part of Ramban Police to inculcate these values in our younger generation, she   said.
