Under a series of initiatives to mark ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today inaugurated a cleanliness drive here at Mini Secretariat here.ADDC Kathua, Puneet Sharma; ADC Atul Gupta; ACR Sandeep Seiontra; Tehsildar HQ, Suninderjeet Kour; District Officers and subordinate staff members of various departments participated in the cleanliness drive.Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of cleanliness for staying healthy in today’s busy lifestyle. He said departments, ULB and PRIs are being involved for special cleanliness and sanitation drives in all Panchayat Halqas, Municipal wards, health institutions water bodies as part of ongoing ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ to inculcate the habit of cleanliness among the stakeholders of the society.He called upon the officers and employees to maintain cleanliness around their house, office and localities and schedule it on a regular interval to stay in clean and neat surroundings. Pertinently, the fortnight long ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ is being observed where cleanliness drives in various government buildings, offices, parks, schools and other public places where garbage shall be removed from road sides besides creating awareness among masses about the importance of cleanliness.
