Chandigarh Management Association (CMA) in association with Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) organized a Book Launch of “And the Lion Smiled at the Rabbit- Manage Emotions to Win” written by Rashmi Dutt on 27th March 2012 (Today) at PHD Chamber, Chandigarh. Mr.Vivek Atray Renowned Author & Additional Transport Commissioner, Haryana was the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group & President, CMA presided over the event. Mr.Dalip Sharma Regional Director, PHD Chamber was the Guest of Honour .

Appreciating the content of the book Mr. Vivek Atray said that in the book the author had tried to provide simple and clear solution to the nagging issues that young professionals face in day to day life which includes hard negotiations, office-politics or never-ending deadlines. The book tells how one can change the critical situation just by managing his emotions, added Mr. Atray.

Ms. Rashmi Dutt said this book is about dealing with everyday work problems with emotional intelligence, rather than swinging from fight to flight. When situations make us uncomfortable, we go into silence or violence, which doesn’t help us move towards our goals. But we can teach ourselves to regulate our impulses, and respond to difficult situations consciously and rationally’, Datt further added.

Speaking on occasion Dr. Anshu Kataria said that the book speaks to the large and relatively young workforce of India (over 60% of India’s population is less than 35 years old) who is smart, works hard and wants to succeed but might feel stifled by unreasonable people around them. I believe that after reading this book the young generation could get easy and simple solutions to their problems.

Dutt further added that the book advocates that managing emotions is the key to success at the workplace. It draws heavily from Indian folklore of Panchatantra and the wisdom of Indian philosophy, weaving it together with modern management theory to provide practical solutions to every-day issues ranging from holding difficult conversations to conflict resolution in the real world.

Members of Executive Committee of CMA including Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Ms. Madhulika Kak, Er. M.L. Garg, Mr. Ashok Verma,Dr. Aneet Kaur,Dr. Niraj Pasricha , Mr. A.K. Gandhi ,Mr. Vivek Goyal ,Dr. T.L. Kaushal, Mr. Balwant Gurunay, Mr. Jagtaran Singh Nayyar, Lt. Col Karamjit Singh ,Mr. A.S. Tanda, Col M.G.S. Khurana, Mr. T.S. Chhabra, Mr. H.S. Bhatti ,Mr. Vikram Hans ,Mr. Gurdip Singh Deep, Dr. P.K. Vasudeva ,Sh. Charanjit Singh ,Sh. B.M. Gulati were also present on the occasion.
