Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today asked the officials of various departments to continue with a renewed zeal and passion to maintain the top position in several flagship programs of the state government to ensure benefit of these schemes to citizens in a time-bound manner.Chairing a meeting with the officials of concerned departments to review the progress made in AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, pendency at PGRS and citizen centric services at Sewa Kendras, and vaccination drive in rural areas.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that Jalandhar has achieved satisfactory results in various flagship programs initiated by the state government by holding top positions in most of the schemes. He added that the district has secured first position in AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna ensuring coverage of 88.55 percent beneficiaries i.e. 232052 families. He called for 'mission 100% coverage’ under this scheme while fixing weekly targets of the concerned departments to bring maximum beneficiaries under the ambit of this scheme by approaching each one of them.Similarly, while reviewing pendency in the citizen centric services, the DC stated that Jalandhar has zero pendency in terms of pending applications beyond timeline as all the 290874 applications for various services were entertained by the concerned departments within stipulated timeline thus ensuring no delay in the delivery of these services.Mr. Thori also stated that the district has also performed well in the redressal of grievances received through PGRS with the redressal of 1030 complaints within a given time-frame. In a meeting with health officials, the DC asked the SMOs and SDMs to give fillip to vaccination drive in rural areas so that the target of 100 percent inoculation in villages could be achieved.The DC categorically mentioned that any laxity in the smooth implementation of these schemes would be highly unwarranted and strict action would be taken against the erring officials, if any kind of discrepancy was reported.
