On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, a team of  Officers of District Administration Bandipora lead by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad paid a visit to Bankoot village to meet the fire victims whose residential houses were completely damaged in a massive fire incident on Thursday morning. The Joint Director was accompanied by Assistant Director Fire and Emergency Services Bandipora, Naib Tehsildar Abdul Rashid and other senior officers of the district. Three residential houses were completely damaged during the fire incident while a cow was also charred to death.On the occasion, the Joint Director interacted with the fire victims and expressed sympathies with them on behalf of the District Administration. He took first hand appraisal of the situation and assured that every kind of possible support shall be provided for their immediate rehabilitation.He on the occasion distributed blankets, ration and immediate cash assistance of ?50,000/- to the affected families from District Red Cross Fund. He said the Revenue Department and the Fire and Emergency Services Department have assessed the quantum of damages and forwarded the case to district administration for comprehensive relief as under SDRF norms.Joint director assured the families that every possible assistance shall be provided to the affected families.He also directed to provide essential items as an immediate relief and take appropriate measures for their time being in shelter.
