Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta on Thursday said that the vaccination and Covid appropriate behaviour (CAB) are the two most potent tools against Covid-19.She was briefing the media on latest developments regarding containment of Covid-19 and present status of vaccination drive. She informed the media persons that the positivity rate in Samba district is 0.11% as against 4.1% a few weeks back.“Testing is being conducted daily by Mobile and stationary testing teams in hotspots and prime locations having higher footfalls including markets, shops, offices, hospitals etc” added the DC samba.She further informed that the district has achieved 100% vaccination in 45+ age category and now the prime focus is on covering 18-44 age category persons. “14 vaccination centres for High risk groups and the general public have been designated in district samba and daily vaccinations are being carried out at an extensive rate” , she said. The slots for vaccination can be registered every day in the morning through the Cowin apps and after successful booking vaccination can be availed.The DC samba also mentioned that 2509 total vaccination have been achieved in respect of the 18-44 age category within 2 days of booking slots on the app.She appealed to the general public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour and SOPs. “General public needs to maintain social distance, masking up and using sanitizers regularly for their own safety and the society as a whole” added DC samba.The DC said people can give their valuable feedback through social media platforms @dcofficesamba Twitter handle and @dcsambaofficial Facebook handles.
