DC Ramban visits Banihal, inspects progress on NH-44 four laning project

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today inspected progress on National Highway four-laning project at Banihal, besides resolving the bottlenecks hindering pace of progress of work.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; SDM Banihal, Zaheer Abbas, Tehsildar, BDO and several other  officers were also present on the occasion.The DC listened to the issues highlighted by the locals pertaining to the project, including land compensation, jobs for local youth in ongoing national projects etc. The DC assured that their genuine issues will be resolved on priority basis.The DC informed that directions have already been issued to construction companies to provide maximum job opportunities to local youth as desired by LG during his recent visit to Ramban. The DC said that the District Administration is working tirelessly to resolve all bottlenecks to ensure completion of Jammu- Srinagar National Highway widening project without any delay. The DC further said that the Banihal-Qazigund tunnel work is in its final stage and shall be ready for commissioning soon which will provide new opportunities of development to the Banihal area.The PRIs and prominent citizens also apprised the DC about their issues like shortage of doctors in health institutions, road connectivity, water and power supply. The DC passed on the spot directions to concerned officers to take necessary action on all the issues.
