To further streamlining oxygen generation and distribution to hospitals, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Vishesh Sarangal today visited oxygen plant of Indian Air Production located at Jandu Singha.Divulging the details, ADC Vishesh Sarangal stated that the district administration Jalandhar has taken host of measures to tackle O2 shortage in the hospitals and all the officers have been paying regular visits to oxygen generation plants. He stated that the owners of plants were asked to strictly adhere to government guidelines with respect to oxygen production and distribution as all supplies other than medical institutions have been suspended for a while.The ADC further directed the plant management to ensure 24X7 availability of spare parts and mechanics for plant machinery so that whenever there was any breakdown in the plan, was handled timely. The ADC also laid emphasis on uninterrupted production and supply of oxygen to meet rising demand of this precious gas. He also asked to supply oxygen to healthcare establishments as per requirement sheet issued by the deputy medical commissioner on a daily basis adding that as every single drop of this life-saving gas is curial for the Covid-19 patients.Mr. Sarangal reiterated district administration’s commitment to provide best of the healthcare services amid pandemic while appealing to people to strictly follow Covid appropriate behavior to keep virus spread at bay. He further urged people to come forward for the vaccination in huge number as building herd immunity against the virus was need of the hour.Meanwhile, the ADC took stock of activities being undertaken at the oxygen generation plant including production and distribution, processing of liquid oxygen into medical one, and re-filling of cylinders.
