Administration orders 25 oxygen concentrators for effective COVID management : Ghanshyam Thori

Says, concentrators to be utilized in Civil Hospital Jalandhar as the district receives the first lot of ten pieces of equipment

In a bid to effective COVID management in Civil Hospital, the district administration has ordered 25 oxygen concentrators to reduce the demand for oxygen gas.Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the administration on Tuesday received the first lot of ten concentrators, which has been handed over to the Civil Hospital Jalandhar. He further added that an NGO Gill Foundation had donated to the Red Cross Society as a contribution to the ongoing battle against the Covid-19 pandemic adding that these funds have been utilized by purchasing 25 oxygen concentrators.The DC further stated that the first lot of 10 oxygen concentrators has been received while the delivery of the remaining machinery was underway. He said that these concentrators would reduce oxygen demand in the Civil Hospital and the saved oxygen gas would be diverted to other Covid care facilities. He lauded the contribution of Mr. Raj Gill, the pattern of Gill Foundation for coming forward to contribute in the service of humanity. He said that the efforts of such philanthropists make a difference when it comes to collective efforts against such crises.Mr. Thori stated that the district administration has taken a slew of measures including oxygen audits in all hospitals to ensure optimum utilization of this life-saving gas. He added that hospitals and industries were also urged to install PSA-based plants besides buying oxygen concentrators on their own. He mentioned that these steps have helped a lot in the effective implementation of Covid care management across the district.
