Lalru police arrested Nepalis and seized 13 kg 613 grams of opium

Satinder Singh , IPS, Senior Superintendentof Police, Distt SAS Nagar  has stated while releasing a press note, that keeping in view the guidelines issued in order to curb the menace  of Drug trafficking carried out by various elements in the society, they were able to achieve a breakthrough , when under the able guidance of Dr. Ravjot Grewal, IPS, SP (Rural) and Sh. Gurbakshish, PPS, DSP Derabassi, Inspector Sukhbir Singh, SHO PS Lalru, , along with his police team apprehended two men and a woman on 22/04/2021, while patrolling from near the Peer Baba Dargah on the main Ambala to Chandigarh Highway in Lalru.

These Three people namely:-

1. Amrit Pun s/o Bharti Pun r/o vill Paali , Ps Dalli , Distt Jajrot, Nepal,  aged ( 21 years)

2. Shakti Uli, s/o Jid Bahadur Uli R/o Irribaan Ps Liban, Distt Rolpa, Nepal,  aged ( 21 Years)

3.Kamla Barai  , W/o Sant Bahadur Barai R/o Baeparak, Ps Beet, Distt Baake , Nepal , aged ( 34 years)

Were carrying shoulder bags with them , and were caught  when found to be suspicious.

The contents of the  three bags were thus searched in the presence of Sh Rupinderjit Singh , DSP PBI/NDPS Distt SAS Nagar and the following substances were obtained from them..

The bag belonging to Amrit Pun contained 5.208 kgs of opium , that of Shakti Ali contained 5.208 kgs of opium and from the third one 3.197 kgs of opium  was obtained .  

This amounted to a total of 13 kgs 613 gms opium. An FIR no 73 date 22/04/2021 u/s 18/61/85  NDPS Act, Ps Lalru, Distt SAS Nagar was registered against the accused , following which they were arrested .

The arrested accused were then produced in the court of Hon’ble Sh. Jagmeet Singh , JMIC Derabassi on 23/04/2021 and a police remand was obtained .During interrogation the accused revealed that both of them ( both men) previously worked as labourers in Shimla , Amrit Pun in Rohdu and Shakti in Theouk and both are married .The lady Kamla Badai is a house wife , whose husband is in Saudi Arabia.    

They also revealed that all three of them had brought this opium from Nepal and were to sell this to their permanent customers in Punjab and Shimla, but were arrested by the police.A thorough interrogation of the accused is underway in order to identify the other members involved in this network.

We are hopeful of more revelations.

RECOVERIES:-

05 kg 208 gms opium from Amrit Pun

05 kg 208 gms opium from Shakti Uli

03 kg 197 gms opium from Kamla Barai

TOTAL RECOVERY- 13 kgs 613 gms Opium .
