Onkar Nehria of the BJP has been unanimously elected as Mayor of Dharamsala municipal corporation, as Congress councilors didn't file nomination for the post of the Mayor.This paved way for unanimous selection of Onkar Nehria as the Mayor.Onkar Neharia has been elected unopposed Mayor in the Municipal Corporation Dharamshala, while Sarvachand an independent councillor (Supported by BJP)has been elected the Deputy Mayor after defeating Former Congress Mayor Devinder Jaggi (Congress) . Sarvchand polled 11 votes, while Devinder Jaggi got 6 votes.It shall be the first BJP led Municipal Corporation of Dharamsala. In 17 wards BJP won the 8 and congress 5 seats and four Independents also emerged winners. Later BJP got the support of 3 independents.In the last congress led corporation Congress had 13 while BJP 4 councillors.
