Days after National Conference senior leader and Minster Ali Mohammad Sagar said that his party would give a befitting defeat to Congress in the next year’s elections, senior Congress vice president Ghulam Nabi Monga  said that his party would take a lead in the formation of next government in Jammu and Kashmir state.

He asserted that Congress would achieve a landmark success in the Kashmir pision and would cross double digits in terms of seats. “A mood is developing in high command of going alone in the 2014 polls, and definitely before arriving at any decision, state president Prof. Saif ud din Soz would be invited for suggestions,” Mongasaid. He welcomed Congress National Spokesman Rashid Alvi’s statement, in which he had said that Soz would be taken into confidence before taking any decision with regard to any kind of poll arrangements before or after 2014 elections.

“Congress has strengthened under the command of Prof Soz and we are sure we will continue to flourish in future as well,” Monga said and added that any party men, who want to return to party fold after snapping the ties, will have to undergo strict disciplinary action. He claimed that Congress was never strong as it is now in the State. Monga, however, admitted that the youth of the state had been keeping a distance from the party in J&K for some time, “but youth are now again playing a vital role in party affairs.”
