Punjab Government is committed to provide best health facilities to the people of the State. In the series of which today 151 Tandrust Punjab Health Centers have been dedicated to the people in the state. This was stated by Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab while dedicating a such centre at Village Bakarpur, District SAS Nagar. He disclosed that 2820 such health centers are operational in the state and daily around 21,500 people are availing the health facilities through these health centers. Tele consultancy facility has also made available in these centers. Moreover, 516 dispensaries would also be converted into these health centers. The Health Minister further said that the state government was not only uplifting the basic infrastructure in the health sector but also recruiting the staff on a large scale. Around 11,000 health staff had been recruited and the process for further recruitment was also underway.
With these steps, the state government has provided better health facilities and succeeded in providing large scale employment as well.Balbir Singh Sidhu said that these centers were acting as a bliss for rural population, especially for the women of rural sector as they were availing health facilities in their villages or nearby villages. This would further help in reducing the death rate during the child birth. Moreover, these centers are also playing an important role in keeping the people of villages healthy by providing the facility of routine checkup.The health Minister further disclosed that the Covid vaccination would also start at these health centers from April 01, 2021. So people should step forward to get the vaccine administered and play an important role in curbing this deadly disease.On this occasion, Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Political Secretary to Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu and Chairman Market Committee Kharar, Dr. Areet Kaur, Director NHM Punjab, Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur were also present.
