Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today launched a unique campaign on the theme “ Catch the Rain” as an activity during the celebration of World Water Day from 16th to 22nd of March 2021 under the slogan ‘ Chalo Chalche ,Barkha Phadchey’ aiming at saving every drop of rain water for future use.The Deputy Commissioner informed that a dedicated campaign through a competition (MUQABLA) from 20th to 24th March has been opened for participation of general public, Students, PRIs and ULBs in the said campaign and give their valuable ideas in collecting, conserving, conveying and judiciously using the water for future purposes for larger public interest through Jan Bhagidhari.The campaign will also bag cash prize of Rs. 5000, 3000 and 1000 for the top three ideas which would be sent through Audio, Video, ideas in writing on Email: [email protected]. In this regard, the District Administration has constituted the panel to scrutinize and select the best idea.The DC further appealed that the World Water Day which is to be celebrated on 22-03-2021 throughout the country and Prime Minister of India will address the nation regarding the importance of saving water for future generations and it is appealed to masses of District Udhampur to help in saving water in all possible ways through the judicious use.
