Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: DC Kishtwar flags off Pad Yatra

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today flagged off a Pad Yatra as part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations here from DC Office Complex. Amid chanting of slogans for social causes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Nasha Mukt Bharat, Communal harmony and unity and integrity of the country and  carrying banners  and placards, over 50 schools with 340 students of Zone Kishtwar along with staff members participated in the Pad Yatra.The yatra, organised by the Youth Services & Sports Department, started from DC office and after passing through Sangram Nhattta culminated at Chowgan Ground.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the 15th August 2022 (Independence Day) will mark 75 years of freedom of India from the British rule.He further added that to celebrate this day the Government has proposed several programmes at Block levels under the ageis of Azadi ka Amrut Mohatsav.The DC asked the teachers and the students to take precautionary measures against  COVID-19  to prevent the resurgence of the infection.ACR, Dr. Amir Hussain, District Information Officer Anoop Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Hussain Qazi, District Youth services and Sports officer Kharati Lal Sharma besides employees of education and Youth Services and Sports Department were also present on the occasion.
