Punjab To Become First State With Total Computerization Of Land Records Within Six Months- Majithia

Committed To Provide Transparent, Corruption Free Revenue Administration To The Citizen

Punjab Revenue & Rehabilitation, Information & Public Relations, Non-Conventional Energy and NRI Affairs Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today assumed his office amongst the presence of his cabinet colleagues and senior Akali leaders at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh.

 Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue, Rehabilitation and Public Relations Minister Punjab, today said that Punjab, the agrarian state of the country is all set to become first state in the country with total computerization of land records within six months. Interacting with the media persons after taking over as Revenue Minister here today in the second term of SAD-BJP government, Mr. Majithia said that our government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and visionary guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal that initiated this gigantic task to computerize all land records in our last term and 147 out of total 160 Fard Kendras have become fully operational and rest 13 would be operational by September this year. He said that we have computerized the land record of 11500 villages and now every villager can get copy of Fard across the counter at a nominal rate of Rs 20 per page instantly. Mr. Majithia said that he has issued directions to Financial Commissioner Revenue to start helpline numbers in every district so that any villager can get any mistake in the land record rectified by reporting on this He said that the department has also started putting land record on the web so that any person can view the status of his land record sitting at home and get a copy at his personnel computer.Promising transparent, corruption-free and people-friendly revenue administration, Mr. Majithia said that his endeavour would be to improve the interaction of people with the department, pleasant and he would ensure that every citizen gets due respect from all revenue authorities. Appealing to all Tehsildars, Kanugos and Patwaris to collectively work to realize this mission, Mr. Majithia said that honest, dedicated and sincere officers would be honoured and others should remain prepared for a flak. Vowing to take development agenda of SAD-BJP government to a next higher level, Mr. Majithia said that people of Punjab has put a stamp of approval on our development vision and now we are duty-bound to fulfill the aspirations of people as promised in the manifesto. He said that SAD-BJP government would take the message and benefits of Right To Service Act to the people so that they could be educated regarding their rights and this act could be implemented in its true spirit. When asked about internal contradictions in Congress led UPA government, Mr. Majithia said that results of five Vidhan Sabha polls mark the beginning of countdown for the end of UPA rule and people should remain prepare for mid-term elections as UPA cannot survive with adhocism and political patch work being worked out on daily basis. Prominent amongst those were present on the occasion included Mr.  Gulzar Singh Ranike, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister,  Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Irrigation Minister, Mr. Tota Singh, Agriculture Minister, Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister, Mr. Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Jails and Printing Minister, Mr. Deep Malhotra, Mr. S.R. Kaler, Mr. Manpreet Singh Iyali, Mr. Pargat Singh, Mr. Darshan Singh Shivalik, Mr. Amar Pal Singh Boni, Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha all MLAs, Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Former Union Minister and Senior SAD leaders all over the state, who congratulated Mr. Majithia on assuming new responsibility.
