To review the progress of various schemes of different departments pertaining to youths, a board meeting of Punjab Youth Development Board (PYDB) was held at Mohali, which was presided over by Chairperson Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra today.Recapitulating commitment of Punjab Government about welfare of youth, Mr. Bindra said that India especially Punjab is at a critical juncture of development, with a burgeoning youth population in need of productive employment. Punjab Government realized the reality and the Budget for skill development of youth has been increased by five times by the state government and decided to create maximum job opportunities in public sector as well as in private sector. To channelize the youth potential in a constructive way, the state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh also initiated a flagship program to construct stadiums in rural areas so that youth can be able to take part in sporting activities instead of attracting towards drugs.On the occasion, Mr. Bindra also reviewed the ground realities of implementation of various youth oriented schemes and programs embarked by the state government. Among others who were present in the meeting included Director, Sports and Youth Services DPS Kharbanda, Senior Vice Chairman of Board Prince Khullar, Jaswinder Singh Dhunna, Lakhveer Singh, Nirmal Dullat, Dr. Anchal Arora and Jaspreet Singh. Officials of the Industrial Training and Employment Generation department were also present during the board meeting.
