With an aim to cover maximum beneficiaries under inoculation drive, the district administration has roped-in as many as 41 private hospitals to provide Covid-19 vaccination in the district, said Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori.While participating in a meeting chaired by Principal Secretary health and family welfare Hussan Lal to review the vaccination drive, the deputy commissioner said that a total of 34352 eligible beneficiaries had taken the jab of covid vaccine that include 15117 healthcare workers, 12294 frontline workers, 941 beneficiaries between age 45 and 59 with co-morbidity, and 6000 senior citizens. Of these total 34352 inoculated beneficiaries, 5967 healthcare workers and 1199 frontline workers have taken the second dose of the vaccine.Divulging more, the deputy commissioner said that 41 private hospitals, which have started vaccination in their premises, include Akal hospital, NHS, Ghai, DMC, Sikka, Vedanta, Shrimann, Ankur, Central, Innocent, New Rubby, PIMS, Astha, Sacred heart, Global, Patel, Thind eye, Gensis, Goel, Makkar, Miglani, Doaba, Ranjit, Amar, Jammu, RS Gandhi, Aggarwal Gut and Liver, Armann Mithapur, Kamal, Mann Medicity, HP Ortho, Atlis, Star, Kamal Multi Specialty, Joshi, Dr. Amit Jain, Passchricha, India Kidney, Apex, and Armann Tanda road. Beneficiaries can get Covid-19 vaccine jab at a nominal fees of Rs. 250 in private hospitals. Mr. Thori further stated that as of now 12 government hospitals were offering vaccination services and all primary health centers, community health centers, and sub divisional hospitals would start vaccination from Monday onwards.The deputy commissioner said that senior citizens above the age of 60 and people between the age group of 45 and 59 years with co-morbidity are eligible under the third phase of vaccination. He further mentioned that the vaccination was going to ensure protection from this virus; hence all the beneficiaries should come forward for vaccination and refrain from being complacent at this stage as it could take a heavy toll on everyone. He further directed the health and police authorities to ensure implementation of Covid appropriate behavior in the district as it can keep virus spread under check, especially in the wake of resurgence in the fresh cases. Protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands can make a difference in arresting the virus spread, added the deputy commissioner.
