District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, today, presided over a grievance redressal camp at Boys Higher Secondary School Wakura during the Mega Block Diwas proceedings.The officers of all line departments Jal Shakti, DFO, Sindh Forest, FCS&CA, Tehsildar Wakura and BDO were available to hear the public grievances.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the purpose of organizing Block Diwas is to reach out to the people at their doorsteps for listening to their grievances and assess the development needs of the people.The Sarpanchs and locals sought better road connectivity, adequate health facilities, up gradation of PHE and PDD infrastructure, Degree College in block Wakura, Girls Higher Sec. School And other related issues concerning their respective areas.The DDC resolved several issues on the spot besides issued instructions to the concerned departments to take measures to address the public issues. He assured the PRIs that all their issues would be taken into consideration and directed the officers of line departments to work in coordination with the PRIs so that equitable development of all panchayats is ensured in the district.Meanwhile, the DDC appealed to the people to make optimal use of the recently launched ‘Itella’ App so that district administration could help people of the district in real time in case of emergencies.Similar functions were held at other locations of the district where designated senior officers were present and listened to the public grievances and resolved the majority of them on the spot with the intervention of the concerned department.Later, DDC visited the Water Filtration Plant Lar to inspect the progress of renovation work of the Water reservoir approved under the Back to Village program.
