The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, who is also Chairman Management Committee of Sakhi One Stop Centre for women today, convened a meeting here to review the facilities provided to the aggrieved women at One Stop Centre (OSC) in the district.During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on the facilities available at the centre including staff, video conferencing, infrastructure, surveillance, etc.The representatives from HOPE Disability Centre informed the meeting that all the requisite facilities are available at the centre as per the guidelines of the scheme and informed about the cases facilitated by the centre since the OSC was established there which include cases of sexual abuse and do mestic violence. The DC on the occasion extended the date of functioning of the One Stop Center (OSC) for women from HOPE Disability Centre by further 3 months. The decision was taken after a brief deliberation upon the working of the centre that is being outsourced to HOPE Disability Centre (NGO) in the district since the launch of the scheme as required permanent Government infrastructure is not available in the district.Meanwhile Tehsildar Ganderbal informed that about 3 kanals of land has been identified within the vicinity of District Hospital for which DC directed him to complete all documentation work so that land is transferred to the concerned department to develop infrastructure at earliest for establishment of OSC.The DC urged upon all stakeholders to create awareness about the functioning and facilities available at the OSC so that the people will get a clear knowledge how OSC is working for the empowerment of women and their welfare. The meeting was attended by all committee members including Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal, CPO Ganderbal, PO ICDS Ganderbal, CMO Ganderbal, Dy. SP HQ, Tehsildar Ganderbal and members from Civil Society Ganderbal.
