Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J), today said that techniques and technologies developed by the Faculty must reach to the farming communities.He was interacting with the Scientists of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, R.S. Pura under ‘Interaction Meet’ programme. He was accompanied by Registrar cum Comptroller of the University. This unique programme, a brain-child of Prof. Sharma is aimed at getting feedback from the ground level and to have one-to-one interaction with faculty members.Vice Chancellor interacted with the Scientists from Divisions of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Veterinary Microbiology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry. He took stock of teaching, research and extension activities of the divisions. Prof. Sharma emphasized that commercialization of technology is important and regular Institution-Industry meet is the need of the hour.He exhorted the scientists to identify the technologies having potential to cater the needs of farmers. He also stressed that innovative technologies should be filed for getting patents.He was welcomed by Prof. M.S. Bhadwal, Dean of the Faculty. Dr. Bhadwal thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his vision and guidance in making the university a vibrant institute; and creating a cordial environment to interact at Divisional level.
