Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil said that 'Pooran Shakti Kendra Project had been sanctioned for the State under National Women Empowerment Project. He was presiding over a meeting of officers of the Department here today. He said that Women Empowerment District Resource Centres would be set up upto Tehsil and village level under this project. Dr. Shandil said that these centres would focus on the socio economic development and empowerment of women besides other issues like education, health, gender ratio and atrocities against women etc. would be focussed. The Minister said that convergence facilitator centres would also be established at district, tehsil and village level under the project. He said that special emphasis would be given on the wide publicity of this project so as to provide maximum benefits to the womenfolk. Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Shri P.C. Dhiman, Special Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Shri M.P. Sood and Director Women and Child Development Smt. Madhu Bala Sharma were also present in the meeting.
