Ludhiana , 14 Jan 2021

To pay homage to the farmers who were martyred in the farmers' agitation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a state level function on Wednesday in Ludhiana on the auspicious occasion. The Lohri program was dedicated to the martyred farmers and was presided over by the party's state president and MP Bhagwant Mann. The party leaders observed a 2-minute silence as tribute for the farmers’ who sacrificed their lives during the ongoing agitation. Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Legislative Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, Deputy Leader of Opposition Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, MLAs Principal Budhram, Baljinder Kaur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Pandori, Amarjit Singh Sandoya, Master Baldev Singh Jaito, Jagtar Singh Jagga Hissowal, general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat, state treasurer Neena Mittal, state secretary Gagandeep Singh Chadha, joint secretary Amandeep Singh Mohi, were present on the occasion.Mann said the movement had now become a mass movement and these black laws were very dangerous for all the sections of the society, including small traders, laborers and employees. He said in the ongoing agitation against these black laws, every citizen of the country was supporting, according to their finances. He said that the leaders of the parties in power alternately divided the people for the seat on the basis of communal and class. “But now the people have understood the conspiracies of the divisive leaders. People are fighting together for their future,” he added.Terming the farmers’ movement as the only movement of Punjab by the ruling party at the center, Mann said that being the united Punjab in the freedom of the country, the people of Punjab had made most sacrifices; led the struggle for freedom, and it was given to the whole country. He said the way Punjab and Haryana were leading this movement now, the entire country would benefit from it. He said that farmers had been protesting peacefully on the streets for the last several months but the arrogance and stubborn attitude of the democratically elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was not listening to the plight of the farmers.“Instead of listening to the people, they are fighting a war for corporate houses. Even if the dog of a Prime Minister of any country dies, then PM Modi tweets to express his grief, but he did not utter a single word when more than 65 ‘annadatas’ of our country had died,” Mann said.

He said that the agitating farmers did not go to the apex court over the black laws; the central government had filed a writ petition in the apex court and formed a committee of their choice. The AAP leader further said that the fairness of the courts was also being questioned.Mann said that if we look at the Modi-Shah related cases in which the judges pronounced their verdicts, some had been appointed as governors or some on other positions. He said that the farmers who had never demanded the formation of the committee were being given the committee by force just like the black laws. “Today, the Union Ministers and BJP leaders were calling ‘annadatas’ a traitor, terrorist, a Pakistani-Chinese agent. PM Modi is running the country in a dictatorial manner. Modi had given the slogan of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ before the elections, but now he was working on the policy of 'Hum Do (Modi-Shahi), Hamare Do (Ambani-Andani),” said Mann.He said that people had twice made Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, after listening to his ‘Mann ki Baat’ and now Modi should listen to the people’s ‘Mann ki Baat’. Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Aam Aadmi Party had been opposing black laws from day one. He said that AAP was standing shoulder to shoulder in the farmers' movement and the Kejriwal-led government in Delhi was providing all possible facilities to the struggling farmers on the Delhi borders. Cheema said that today the Aam Aadmi Party was burning copies of black laws in every village, street and locality across the state and were paying homage to the martyred farmers. On the occasion, Harminder Singh Bakhshi, Suresh Goyal Ludhiana Urban president, Gurdarshan Singh Kohli, Rural co-president, Sharan Pal Singh Makkar, district secretary, Dupinder Singh, district media incharge, Gobind Kumar, social media incharge, Master Hari Singh, office incharge, event incharge Rajan Malhotra, senior leaders Ahibab Singh Grewal, Gurjit Singh Gill, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, Ravinder Pal Singh Pali, Prof Tejpal Singh Gill, Puneet Sahni, Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Bhupinder Singh Sandhu, Bharpur Singh, Harpreet Singh Palaha, Kuldeep Singh Fauji, Kamal Miglani, Amarjit Singh, Ranjit Singh Saini, Dharminder Fauji, Tashit Gupta, Baljit Singh Grewal, Harbans Singh Bhavna, Kuldeep Aeri, Baldev Singh, Chandra Bhardwaj, Neeraj Kumar, Shekhar Grover, Parminder Sandhu, Sunny Bedi, Honey Sandhu, Bir Sukhpal, Raj Kumar Saini, among others were present.
