Following heavy snowfall in the district, the Snow clearance operations are going-on in full swing and all men and machinery have been pressed into service to clear the roads.Meanwhile, Chief Engineer, MED, Kashmir, Er. Ab Rashid and Executive Engineer, MED, Anantnag Circle, Er. Mohammad Ismail today visited district Kulgam where along with the Deputy Commissioner they monitored the snow clearance operations.It was informed that the number of snow clearance machines have been augmented and the snow clearance operations are being carried out on all major roads connecting Kulgam with other districts besides other link and inner roads.Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited several areas in Kulgam and directed the Municipal Committee to ensure snow clearance of all lanes in the town.He on the occasion took stock of the availability of essential commodities and directed the concerned to ensure smooth supply of essentials.The district administration has advised people to contact concerned Tehsildars in case of any emergency to get prompt assistance besides they can also call on following numbers viz. 01931-260590 and 94190-31386 in case of any emergency.
