Governor Bandaru Dattatraya released ‘Kisan Handbook’ and Calendar of Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, today. Chief Secretary Anil Khachi was also present on the occasion.On the occasion, the Governor said that horticulture has played an important role in strengthening the economy of Himachal Pradesh. He said that the state has acquired a distinct position in horticulture and agriculture sectors across the country and has a great demand for high quality fruits, vegetables, flowers and other agricultural products produced in the state. He added that the credit goes to the hardworking farmers of the state who have increased their production and quality considerably by adopting scientific advice.Earlier, Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Parvinder Kaushal greeted the Governor on the occasion of the New Year and thanked him for releasing ‘Kisan Handbook’ and Calendar.Secretary to Governor Rakesh Kanwar was also present on the occasion.
