Aam Aadmi Party senior leader and national spokesperson Raghav Chadha has been assigned additional responsibility of the Party's Punjab Unit’s Co-Incharge. The announcement was made Sunday by Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal.On being appointed the Co-Incharge of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit, Chadha thanked Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, “I would like to thank Hon’ble CM and National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party Shri Arvind Kejriwal for instilling such confidence in me. As Co-incharge of the Party’s Punjab Unit, I will give my blood and sweat to this position and hope to do my bit in furthering the Party’s position in Punjab. India is an agrarian country and whenever it comes to agriculture Punjab stands at the forefront. As co-incharge of the Party’s Punjab Unit, our focus will be to make Punjab a truly prosperous and golden state.”In asserting the Party’s position to make Punjab a state to reckon with, Shri Chadha said, “Punjab is going through challenging times. Our focus in the State will be on education and prosperity. It pains me to see how the youth of Punjab is spoiling its future by getting sucked into the vicious cycle of drugs and unemployment. Farmers have been facing severe problems as well. I take it as my personal responsibility to change these circumstances, and am certain the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab will succeed in making the State green, happy and prosperous.Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal congratulated him on this new responsibility. Shri Chadha has a keen grasp on the ground issues of Punjab and ably put forward the Party’s views on several important issues, including the current burning issue of the three farm bills. The Aam Aadmi Party is hopeful of Shri Chadha’s immense organizational capability to carry forward the Party’s ideals in Punjab.The ordinary citizen in Punjab is tired and angry with the BJP, Congress and Akali Dal. Each of these Parties has together cheated innocent farmers. In such a precarious situation, the presence of Shri Chadha is expected to increase the confidence of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Unit manifold.As Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board, Shri Chadha has also played an important role in realising Hon’ble CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s dream of delivering clean water to each house in Delhi.Shri Chadha is currently the MLA of Rajinder Nagar constituency, and Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board. He has been with the party since before its inception, and has been instrumental in drafting the Lokpal Bill as well. He is the youngest national spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party and among the youngest spokesperson across parties.Shri Chadha’s political journey began in 2011 after he met Shri Arvind Kejriwal. In 2012, Shri Chadha was part of the party’s drafting committee. He is the youngest spokesperson of the party and is also a member of the National Executive of the Aam Aadmi Party. He was also part of the team that drafted the 2013 AAP manifesto. In addition, he has held the post of National Treasurer of the party.Shri Chadha is a chartered accountant, who studied at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi and London School of Economics and Political Science. An alumnus of Delhi University, Shri Chadha is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He also worked as an assistant to Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia in drafting the budget of Delhi in the year 2016. While working as an assistant, his salary was a princely sum of one rupee a month.
