Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi  National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal, who  on Monday reached the farmers sitting at dharna at Singhu border against the central's black laws, said that he had not come to them as Chief Minister but as  their 'sevadar' in support of their demands. It is pertinent to note that Arvind Kejriwal is the only Chief Minister of the country who reached out to the farmers on the Delhi border to support their cause. In a statement released from party headquarters on Monday Arvind Kejriwal said that  the   AAP had taken a solemn vow to ensure that the farmers faced no hardships  during their agitation. On this occasion he reviewed the arrangements made by the Delhi Government and the Aam Aadmi Party for putting in place facilities for the  agitating farmers and interacted with the farmers. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party supported the farmers' call for Bharat Bandh on December 8, making an appeal to the people of the country to join the Bandh. He said that farmers were struggling for their rights and legitimate demands, adding that the Aam Aadmi Party fully supported the demands of the farmers of the country. He said that it was our constitutional right to protest peacefully for our rights enshrined in the Indian constitution,  lamenting that the Modi government at the Center was trampling on the rights of the farmers. He said that the demands of the farmers were very just and genuine and the government should immediately accept them without posing any kind of hindrance to derail them.Describing the agitating farmers as guests of the national capital, he said that all possible help would be provided to the farmers by our Delhi government so that the farmers faced no hardship . He said that by working hard round the clock,  the farmers grow grains to feed the country, saying the 'annadaata' was in deep trouble and it was our duty  to stand shoulder to shoulder with him and support the demands. The Delhi CM reviewed the facilities being provided to the agitating farmers by the government and said that he was aware of the needs and difficulties of the farmers through our MLAs, leaders who were monitoring the arrangements. Taking into consideration the problem of non-availability of water by the farmers, the Delhi Chief Minister assured that the water would be managed through pipes. He said that our entire government, our MLAs, leaders and workers and myself had been serving the farmers like a servant and even today I have come here not as a Chief Minister but as a servant.Arvind Kejriwal was the first Chief Minister to hold a dharna at Jantar Mantri in support of the farmers and had  raised his voice against the Central agriculture laws enforced upon the farmers.
