Voter Awareness van flagged off in the District

Aiming to sensitize the residents on the importance of registering as a voter and the process involved there in, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan a voter awareness mobile van was flagged off by Manisha Rana IAS (under training) , from the District Administrative Complex, Mohali.Ms. Rana informed that van would go to various towns of the district to create awareness among the people about voting so that no eligible person would be deprived of his right to vote.  The van will run from December 4 to 7 in Mohali, from December 8 to 11 in Kharar and from December 12 to 15 in Dera Bassi Vidhan Sabha Constituency.As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a special drive has been initiated in the district for the registration of new voters and rectification of old votes.  Booth level officers will be present at their respective polling booths on December 5 and 6 from 10 am to 5 pm to receive claims and objections from the public.Citizens who are 18 years or of the above age can fill form no. 6 for registration of their new votes, form no. 7 for deletion of vote, form no. 8 for correction in the vote, Form no. 8A for change of residence address and can submit it to the booth level officers on 05 and 6 December 2020.All these facilities can also be availed online through www.voterportal.eci.gov.in or Voter Helpline mobile app.  In case of any problem in this context, the information can be obtained by calling the toll free number 1950.
