Education Department Bandipora contributes Rs 5 lac to DRCF

The Education Department, Bandipora on Friday contributed an amount of Rs five lakh to the District Red Cross Fund (DRCF) as a goodwill gesture to help the people in distress.The cheque was handed over by Chief Education Officer Bandipora to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad.The DC on the occasion thanked the Education Department for taking the lead in philanthropic work, and also called for making civil society vibrant in the district which mainly includes mobilization of resources of funds from educational and non educational institutions.He said we should avail every opportunity to raise resources round the year for the benefit of people.Dr Owais urged all the district officers to raise contributions towards the Red Cross fund on account of different services besides involving other private agencies and corporate houses towards this noble mission to encourage and enable the public to make contributions to give a fillip to the activities of the Red Cross.

He said it is the duty of every human to serve humanity and we must always do so by extending our contribution towards the Red Cross.
