Block Diwas: DC Bandipora holds Public Darbar, meets delegations, individuals

The Block Diwas was today celebrated across the district wherein the officers and departmental functionaries listened to the peoples issues, grievances and demands to ensure on the spot disposal of applications and redressal of grievances.Flanked by senior officers, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad attended the Block Diwas celebrations at Hajin Block that witnessed a huge participation of people.More than three dozen delegations besides scores of individuals called on the DC and apprised him about the problems faced by them in day to day life including that of roads, water, electricity, Healthcare services, Education, Agriculture, Irrigation, Sports and other individual issues.DC Bandipora gave patient hearing to the delegations and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances.While interacting with the people, DC Bandipora said conducting public outreach programmes provides an important feedback for the government to tailor its interventions for the public good and reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the corridors of power in secretariat or other government offices.Dr Owais said that the grievances registered by the people are being tracked and the follow-up action is being taken accordingly with the concerned authorities.Later the Deputy Commissioner distributed Education Assistance of Rs 1.82 Crore among children of Construction workers. He also distributed Laboratory kits among different schools of Sumbal Sub Division besides distribution of other certificates including Domicile certificates and cheques among beneficiaries under different schemes. Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir also participated in the Youm-e-Block public outreach program in Bandipora .Mir after hearing public delegations distributed Education kits including Text Books, domicile certificates, income certificates for students for want of scholarships and also attended Poshan Mah program aimed at sensitising people regarding balanced diet for kids.Similar programs were also held in all the Block headquarters of the district.
