Moga Police cracks Baghapurana Kidnapping case in 6 hrs

Moga police have achieved major success by cracking a kidnapping case in less than 6 hours by arresting three accused persons who were involved in the kidnapping of a 10-year-old child from village Alamwala in Police Station Baghapurana.Mr Harmanbir Singh Gill, Senior Superintendent of Police Moga informed that Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukha son of Jaswant Singh resident of Panjgrain Kalan, PS Sadar Faridkot is an employee of Gurmeet Singh s/o Bikar Singh r/o Aalam wala, PS BaghaPurana and does aluminium fabrication. He has been working there for the last 2 years. On 10 September 2020, Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukha met his friends Basant Singh alias Nandu s/o Karnail Singh r/o Panjgrain Kalan, PS Sadar Faridkot (who runs a mobile repair shop in the village) and Nirmal Singh alias Nimma s/o Jarnail Singh r/o Panjgrain Kalan, PS Sadar Faridkot (works as a daily wager), who were known to Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukha by virtue of having facilitated their loan amounts in earlier times as Sukhdeep Singh's wife works as an agent in facilitating such short term loans.The accused persons hail from a criminal background and have various cases registered against their names in the past. They were facing a financial crunch due to their indebtedness and, thus, conspired to kidnap the 10-year-old son of Gurmeet Singh and seek ransom of 7 Lakh in exchange of releasing the kid. 

On 17 September 2020, around 12:00 pm, Basant Singh alias Nandu and Nirmal Singh alias Nimma reached the shop of Gurmeet Singh at village Alamwala Kalan on Basant Singh alias Nandu's Maruti car bearing number UP32A 5855  and after waiting for the right moment, they kidnapped the child and went towards their village, Panjgrain Kalan.In the meantime, various teams were formed under the supervision of DSP Jagjit Singh and DSP Jasbinder Singh, and an alert was sounded all over the district to catch the kidnappers at the earliest. All the nakas and the patrolling parties were alerted immediately.The kidnappers, then, reached Basant Singh alias Nandu's house at village Panjgrain Kalan and left along with the kidnapped child on Basant Singh alias Nandu's motorcycle Hero Deluxe bearing number PB04 S 3752 towards Bargari, from where they returned towards village Alamwala Kalan around 06:00 pm, where they were apprehended by the police party. FIR no. 141 dated 17.09.20 u/s 365, 384, 120B IPC, PS BaghaPurana, Moga, was registered against the accused persons. All three accused persons have been apprehended and are being produced in the Hon'ble court where their police remand shall be taken. The kidnapped child has been safely handed over to his parents.
