Modest beginnings :
Hailing from Ranipur Mod area of Haridwar, this young, rapper and singer Shivam Sadana released his second Punjabi song “Kaint Teri Nazran’ recently which shot him to fame on youtube crossing more than a million (10 lakh) views.Shivam Sadana used to take part in his school music competitions and choir and was an active theatre artist. He participated in many house acting theatre competitions at school level. Shivam was famous for being a bathroom singer in his residential school. “My favourite instrument was guitar and I still remember when my Dad bought me first guitar from Delhi at the age of 20. It was the best day of my life,” shared Shivam. After learning guitar he started teaching others youngsters too. After completing high school education, his interest in writing songs grew more and more.
Education, Ideals and Training
Shivam, 27, studied at Delhi public school, Ranipur Haridwar till class eighth and went to boarding Indian public school in Dehradun to complete his high school. There he learned classical music. In his boarding school he used to play his guitar during free time and used to hear the Hindi and English songs during weekends. After completing high school, Shivam went to Amity Noida for further studies but soon dropped it to join his family business in home town. He started helping and learning his family in real estate business. While practising property dealing Shivam never left his passion for music. He kept on writing songs and wanted to do something different and earn fame.
Hits and Misses
Shivam released his first written and composed song ‘Aa bhi jaana” as a singer and producer in 2018 on his own youtube channel. After this song his confidence grew and he composed his second Hindi song ‘Chal humsafar’ and went to Mumbai with this song and favoured by luck and his talent the song got selected by T-series in first instance. By this time Shivam got the full confidence and released his Punjabi song “Paave Gucci’ in his channel which is popular among the youths crossing more than 8 lakh views on youtube. After Paave Gucci, Shivam released his second Punjabi song “Kaint Teri Nazran’ which made him famous on youtube crossing more than a million (10 lakh) views.
Challenges :
“People are more interested to listening me in Punjabi genre since I have good command over it. But composing Hindi sad or emotional song is a challenge for me and I am trying hard on it.” Success did not come easy for Shivam. He faced many criticisms and rejections before becoming a youtube singing star. He even tried his voice in major Indian music competitions like Indian Idol,’ Sa re ga ma’ and singing star. After reaching semi finals he was rejected by judges but these temporary failures never stopped him from practicing music and writing his own songs. Shivam says “My father supported me in pursuing my passion for music. No one believed me until my T series song and Punjabi song “Paave gucci” was released.Goal My next aim is to release my already written English pop song. Soon after lockdown is over, I am ready with my live shows, events and collaborations. I want to take my music to the next level.
