Cooperative Minister Suresh Bhardwaj while presiding over the review meeting of Cooperative Department here today stressed on the vital role of Cooperatives in development of the State. He directed the officers to work effectively to maintain the importance of Department in the development of the State.Suresh Bhardwaj reviewed the working of the Department and various cooperative societies and cooperative banks under the Department. He expressed satisfaction over various activities of the Department. He also expressed concern over the increase of Non Profitable Assets (NPA) of the banks and directed the banks to prepare a plan within stipulated time period for reducing the NPA.Cooperative Minister directed the officers to implement the Integrated Cooperative Development Projects worth Rs. 73.14 crore of Solan and Rs. 89.57 crore of Mandi in time bound manner. He also directed to take necessary steps for sanctioning of proposed Integrated Cooperative Development Projects of District Una and District Solan. He said that implementation of these Integrated Cooperative Development Projects would strengthen the Cooperative Societies at rural level in the State.Secretary Cooperative Akshay Sood detailed about the various activities of the Department and Cooperative Societies. He said that Cooperative Department was playing an important role for encouraging entrepreneurship capacity of the people in the State.Registrar Cooperative Society Dr. S. S. Guleria and other senior officers of the Department were also present in the meeting.
