The District Administration Kupwara today finalised the arrangements for smooth conduct of Independence Day Celebration 2020 during a review meeting here.The review meeting conducted under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone was informed that the main function shall be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara and the function will start with Shahna-i-Wadhan early in the morning.The meeting was further informed that the National Flag will be hoisted by the Chief Guest followed by March Past, to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Forest Protection Force, Home-guard and Fire and Emergency Service.The meeting also discussed threadbare various other arrangements including security, seating arrangement, water supply, healthcare facilities, availability of fire tender, installation of Public Address System, transport, electricity, sanitation, conducting of cultural programmes and deployment of magistrates.The ADC directed the concerned officers to ensure hassle free and fool proof arrangements with proper coordination, he also stressed upon them to strictly follow the COVID-19 containment SOPs and ensure use of masks without which entry to the venue is prohibited.It was also given out that the Independence Day functions shall be held at Tangdar and Handwara also.The meeting was attended by SDM Lolab, DPO, DIO, CMO, CEO, and representatives from Engineering departments, Police and CRPF, In-charge Cultural Wing, Education Department, Tehsildars and other concerned.
