Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan and party legislators Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung urging him to address issues like inadequate water and power supply, school admissions and the like being faced by Delhiites.According to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jung assured the legislators that they will be able to access their development fund after the model code of conduct ends May 16.It was also decided that battery-operated rickshaws will continue to ply in the city."The Lt. Governor listened about the problems of power, price rise, water tankers, privatisation of water supply, admission in schools, development of unauthorised colonies, corruption in police etc. and assured to solve them soon," Harsh Vardhan said after the meeting. The delegation complained about the private power companies as well as the water tanker mafia and the government's public distribution system."A corruption-free, transparent and accountable scheme should be put in place so that lakhs of people in Delhi get cheap ration and sugar on time," the party said."It was also decided that battery rickshaw service will be regulated so that people get livelihood."
