Punjab Minister for Forests and Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Affairs  Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was carrying out development works in the state despite the reduction in revenue receipts and increase in expenditure due to CORONA epidemic.Mr. Dharamsot was interacting with media after laying foundation stone of 12 MLD capacity Sewage Treatment Plant which would come up at a cost of Rs 17 crore at Nabha. He said that the work of this plant would be completed in 15 months.Cabinet Minister Dharamsot  while replying to a query,  said that the Akali Dal which had lost its existence, should abandon its opposition to the government headed by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and apologize to the people for what they had done in the past. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh had also put his chair at stake to protect the waters and now the steps taken to prevent this COVID-19 epidemic have set an example for Punjab, India and the world.Mr.  Dharamsot said that the development of Nabha had been overlooked by the previous governments but now but Punjab Government has opened the doors of treasury for the alround development of Nabha.  

He said that with the commissioning of this sewage treatment plant, in view of the needs of Nabha city for the next 15 years, the treated water would be discharged into the Chhajju Bhatt Choi (drain), which would reduce the pollution of Ghaggar and also prevent diseases due to untreated sewage.Mr.  Dharamsot said that apart from this a separate scheme is being formulated for the use of sewage treatment by treating the wastewater.  He said that 1.82 km main sewer pipeline including 11.31 km sewer pipe has been installed for this plant with a sewage treatment capacity of 12 million liters per day. Replying to another query regarding oil prices, Dharamsot said that the Union government should have reduced the prices in view of the fall in crude oil prices but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has treated Punjab like a stepmother.  Moreover, many other decisions have been taken in the interest of farmers and the public by the state government.  On the issue of reduction in oil prices in Delhi, the Cabinet Minister said that the situation in Punjab and Delhi was different, Delhi was a small state and its revenue was much higher than that of Punjab from many other sources.Mr. Ved Kapoor, Vice Chairman, Sewerage and Water Supply Board,SDM Kala Ram Kansal, DSP Rajesh Chibbar, Mr. Rajnish Mittal Shanty former President, Municipal Council, Mr. Amardeep Singh Khanna, Chairman, Improvement Trust, Mr. Paramjit Singh Khatra, Chairman, Mr. Jagjit Singh Duladi, Chairman, Mr. Ichhya Mann Singh Bhojomajri, Mr. Jagdish Singh Maggo, Mr. Gurmeet Mohani,  Hari Seth, Kashmir Lalka, Thekedar Darshan Singh,  Charanjit Batish, Private Secretary Kabal Singh, Narinderjit Bhatia, Sanjiv Jindal SDO of Sewerage and Water Supply Department, Ravi Narula JE and  Other dignitaries were also present.
