State Level Committee Takes Stock Of ICU Facilities In Civil Hospital

In order to improve the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and tier-3 facilities considerably for the Covid-19 patients in Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Civil Hospital, a committee set up on the directions of state health advisor Dr KK Talwar, visited the hospital on Friday evening and took an assessment of the facilities there.Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr Vishesh Sarangal, the committee headed by Dr Bishav Mohan, Dr Vishal Chopra and others inspected the trauma ward on the third floor of the building.Later, Mr Sarangal who is also appointed in-charge of territory hospitals and committee members held a detailed meeting with the officials and discussed the modalities including increasing bed capacity for the patients of level-2 and level-3 category, availability of ventilators, staff management to improve the ICU facilities.The team also guided civil hospital doctors about the latest techniques on patient management .Mr Sarangal said that concerted efforts are being made to bring the contagion under control. He told that the need of the hour is to everyone must act in the unison to win the battle against the novel coronavirus.Additional Deputy Commissioner further added that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is committed to augmenting and revamping of health infrastructure in the state to tackle the infection efficaciously as part of Mission Fateh program.He said that a report would be submitted by the committee to high-ups and requisite steps would be taken accordingly.He reiterated that district administration was fully equipped with resources and manpower to combat Covid 19 and no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause adding that war against Coronavirus would be won with the support of people, who could contribute their share by confining them to home.On the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr Harinder Singh, Dr Kashmiri Lal and others were present.
