Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today convened a meeting of officers to discuss various measures and arrangements  put in place for the smooth celebration of forthcoming Independence Day-2020 function.The meeting was informed that the main function shall be held at DPL Baramulla  and will start early in the morning with Shahna-i-Wadhan thereafter the Chief Guest will hoist National Flag  and will take salute on the march-past to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Fire and Emergency Services and NCC.It was further informed that the cultural programmes shall also be presented by different groups while as prize distribution ceremony shall be organized at the conclusion of the event.The DC was informed that similar functions shall also be organized at Sub Division levels in the district.Speaking on the occasion, DC directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate arrangements of security, sanitation, healthcare, electricity, drinking water etc, to make the event a success.He stressed for better installation of Public Address System, illumination of important government offices, beautification and cleanliness of the venue besides emphasizing on different agencies to work in coordination and cooperation for achieving the desired results.Meanwhile, DC directed the concerned officers to formulate a viable mechanism so that all the COVID-19 related SOPs and guidelines are implemented in letter and spirit.Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC, Additional SP,  ACR, SDMs, Tehsildars, various district and sectoral Officers, representatives from  Police, Army, CRPF besides other concerned.
